As part of our commitment to becoming more inclusive, Destination BC is improving the way our visual assets (including those you are featured in) are labeled and searched for in our digital asset management (DAM) system. By including identity dimensions in our DAM system, underrepresented populations become more visible, which enables the creation of more inclusive marketing materials.
We want to ensure that the words we associate with a visual asset accurately and respectfully represent the people featured in it. An important step to get there is asking you to share with us what language feels right for you.
So, we invite you to self-identify by using the form below. Participation is entirely optional. If you choose not to participate, we will ensure that the words we use do not make assumptions about your identity.
Your feedback will help us to more accurately reflect and celebrate the diversity of BC’s peoples and cultures through our marketing activities, and ensure that the way our province is represented is more inclusive and representative of you, and perhaps even your family, your friends, and your community.
